Dodge Goes Plum Crazy Again

The Fiat Chrysler group are bringing back The Plum Crazy exterior color.

The new plum color will start on a limited number of 2016 Dodge Challenge Chargers, including the 707-horsepower SRT Hellcat models and the R/T Scat Pack models.

Plum Crazy was added to the mix just in time for the upcoming Woodward Dream Cruise this weekend in Metro Detroit, where Dodge will debut a Plum Crazy Challenger and Charger at its spot at the Northwood shopping plaza at the southwest corner of 13 Mile Road and Woodward Avenue.

Plum Crazy made its original debut back in 1970, when Richard Nixon was president. It was the same year Paul McCartney announced the Beatles were breaking up, the Vietnam War intensified as did its protests at home, and American Motors Corporation introduced the world to the AMC Gremlin. Different times, different times.

"Powerful muscle cars painted in impactful colors make Woodward Dream Cruise the perfect setting for Dodge to debut the newest generation Challenger and Charger models in Plum Crazy," Tim Kuniskis, president and CEO of Dodge Brand and SRT Brand, for FCA North America, said in a release. "And with our strongest muscle-car arsenal ever, we knew it was time to reach into our Dodge paint code archive and offer our high-performance R/T Scat Pack and SRT Hellcat models in one of the most iconic exterior colors of all time.

If anyone is out at the "Dream Cruise" this weekend and gets some shots of these new cars please email them to - we will be sure to give you full credit and feature them in an upcoming story about new BBK Performance hellcat performance parts.
