2016 Camaro Offical Performance Numbers

2016 Camaro models will start arriving at dealer showrooms later this fall. This will be the most powerful Camaro Chevrolet have ever launched with the SS model packing almost 455HP in stock trim.

Chevrolet have now released the official performance numbers for all the engine options and they look like they are going to give the 2015/16 Ford Mustang & Dodge Hemi line up some good competition in what will be a new pony car battle for sure!

The new 2016 Chevrolet Camaro engine options start with the entry-level unit: A new turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder, then the mid-level option being the 3.6-liter V-6 and of course the top dawg for now at least, being the 6.2-liter LT1 V-8 transplanted from C7 Corvette.

As previously announced, the 2.0-liter turbo four is good for 275 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, the 3.6-liter V-6 offers 335 HP and 284 lb/ft, and the 6.2-liter V-8 matches the Corvetteā€™s 455 HP and 455 lb/ft.

All engine options will be available with a Six speed manual or 8 speed automatic - take a look at the performance numbers below combine all this with the new improved Alpha platform, a chassis that was designed to offer improved handling dynamics along with a 350lb lighter overall curb weight and we will see that this new Camaro will offer serious competition to the Ford and Dodge muscle car fleet.

All of the listed engine options will benefit from improved exhaust flow and air intake systems - BBK Performance will be offering a line of performance CNC series exhaust headers in shorty tuned length and full length options for the 2016 Camaro SS V8 along with other exhaust improvements like Varitune axle and cat back exhaust systems for the other 2.0 turbo option and 3.6L V6 models - 2016 Camaro Cold Air Intake kits and throttle bodies are also in the BBK Performance R&D development stages that will help improve intake airflow for additional horsepower and torque for improved acceleration and performance.

Stay tuned for upcoming 2016 Camaro performance updates.
