Jeep Grand Cherokee Adds Some Muscle
The 707 Horsepower Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk was announced last week at the New York Auto Show the day after Dodge announced the new 840 Horsepower 2018 Challenger SRT Demon.
This awesome looking Jeep is now starting to debut at other international auto shows around the world including Canada this week.
The Trackhawk Jeep is a full sized four wheel drive SUV powered by a supercharged 6.2-litre V-8 engine that is now the most powerful and quickest SUV ever.
This Jeep will go from 0-60 miles per hour in 3.5 seconds, do a quarter-mile in 11.6 seconds at 116 mph and reach a top speed of 180 mph so this is no ordinary off road Cherokee.
To Stop this Trackhawk - it uses some of the largest brakes ever offered as standard equipment on any Jeep - up front are a pair of vented 15.75 inch rotors that utilize Brembo six piston calipers and out back a pair of 13.78 vented discs with 4 piston Brembos.
All told this brake system hauls this SUV down from 60-0 mph on the street in a braking distance of 114 feet.
If you're crazy enough to take this thing off-road, the Trackhawk comes with the Quadra-Trac four-wheel-drive system but remember it sits a lot lower so you will have clearance issues and you may also want to consider changing wheels and tires for off road terrain.
The 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk will be built in Detroit, Michigan and will be available late in 2017. No official word on pricing, but the lesser Grand Cherokee SRT starts at around $67,000 and we expect a dealer premium on this one, suggesting a base price of around $80,000.
We bet Jeep will have no problems selling this SRT Trackhawk Jeep and we look forward to getting one in at the shop to see what we can do to add some additional horsepower.
