New High Performance Mustang Spied in Dearborn

Looks like Ford Motor company have begun testing some pre-production Mustang models to compete with powerful Chevrolet Camaro ZL1.

Following the debut of the refreshed 2018 Ford Mustang a few weeks ago, it appears that Ford is working on yet another high-performance pony car.

These spy shots taken last week show the usual over camouflaged Ford Mustang driving around near the Ford Headquarters in Dearborn Michigan.

The cars in the images posted on the internet appear to be a modified version of the Shelby GT350R, but fitted with a very aggressive and possibly adjustable rear wing.

One big thing that was noticed is that this latest Mustang prototype has Forge-line wheels that have new Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires that are aggressive rubber to lay down some serious horsepower.

Although it hasn’t confirmed any future Mustang plans, Ford is expected to launch a new performance Mustang possibly a GT500 update soon to compete with the 650 horsepower Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, which features excellent handling characteristics to go along with its straight-line speed.
