Ford GT News From Detroit
As many of you may know the Ford GT was announced last year to much fanfare and now things are starting to happen
No real exciting news from the North American International Auto Show in Detroit this week.
The Ford Booth seemed to be all about the new Ford GT that will hit the race track officially for the first time at the 2016 IMSA Rolex 24hr race in Daytona Beach at the end of January - but practice has already started and things are shaping up for this new supercar from what we have read in the press.
Ford plans to build just 250 examples of the Street Version GT each year. This ultra-sexy, limited-edition Ford GT will have an estimated $400,000 price tag when it actually hits the street later this year and Ford will start taking orders soon for this stunning car.
This Supercar has already been anointed AUTOMOBILE’s Design of the Year. As we all know the number one thing for Ford is Job One; that is winning races and no race is more important than the 2016 24 Hours of Le Mans that will be held June 18th-19th later this year.
It will be one of the most anticipated racing events that Ford has had since 1966 when the Ford Shelby American team beat the Ferrari's with a one - two finish – with the Ford GT40 mark II - we are looking forward to this race as we expect most Ford fans are as well.
